Tips For Healthy Living
July 9, 2019Seniors: Improve Mental Health, Improve Quality of Life
August 15, 2019It is now accepted as fact that most seniors have a better quality of life at a lower cost if they are able to stay in their homes. There is amazing new technology that allows medical monitoring and even video chat with medical staff to facilitate healthy aging in place.
However one of the most important aspects of a successful plan to live well at home in old age is a plan for consistent, nutritious food that is familiar and tastes good. Seniors may have difficulty cooking, or be disinclined to cook well for just themselves, but they can also be stubborn and will throw away unfamiliar meals or food that doesn’t taste good to them.
It’s important to provide seniors a variety of options to meet their nutritional guidelines from their doctors, but also keep in mind their ethnic preferences and the foods they are familiar with. Especially in cities with large immigrant and refugee populations, there are large groups of seniors who qualify for home delivered meals, but are looking for familiar foods from their homelands.
At Global Meals, we provide a variety of delicious meals to choose from, with unique offerings from around the world!
